- What are polyurethane foams used for?
The foams are used to install doors and windows, insulate and fix pipes, fill openings and holes, fix wall panels and roof slates and for thermal insulation.
- How should you use the foam to get the ideal result?
• Shake the can before usage.
• Moisturize the working surface with water, this determines the structure of the foam.
• The working position is the can bottom up.
• Fill the joint with "V"-shaped movements, starting from below.
• Fill about ¾ of the joint, leaving room for expansion. It is advised to support the jambs of doors and windows prior to applying the foam, the supports can be removed after 12-14 hours.
• Adhesive width: 1/3 of joint width.
• Air temperature upon usage: -5 C to +30 C.
• Can temperature upon usage: +10 C - +25 C.
• Best results: at +20 C.
• Adhesive surfaces: must be free of dust, loose particles and oil.
- In what temperature range can you use the foam?
For common foam, the usage temperature is between -5 C - +30 C. For winter foams, -18 C - +30 C.
- What is the working position for spraying the foam?
The working position is the can bottom up.
- Why must you shake the can before usage?
Polyurethane foam consists of several different chemical components which have different weights and can fall into layers when not used. Upon shaking, the components mix which is necessary for forming the right structure of the foam.
- Could the can be re-used?
The re-usage of the can is limited by the foam´s quick drying when exposed to air. When using a common can, the work can be interrupted for no more than half an hour. However, when using gun foam, the can may be left attached to the gun, the regulator screwed tightly closed and hermetically sealed; in this case, the can may be used in the future.
- What if the foam does not come out of the can?
Usually the reason behind this is that the can has been stored or transported in a horizontal position. The chemical agents in the can connect with the release valve and glue it shut. In this case, a gentle tap on the valve may help, since it might break the glue cork around the valve.
- Do the joints need to be moisturized?
Moisturizing the joint ensures a more homogeneous structure of the foam and the primary expansion and curing of the foam proceeds more quickly.
- When installing windows, do you need supports?
Installing the supports ensures a finish of higher quality, but is not necessary if the dosage of the foam is accurate.
- How can you remove cured/uncured foam?

- What if the foam does not stay in the joint?
The problem might be in a joint that is too wide, the temperature of the can, the air temperature and humidity, also the way the joint is being filled and the amount of loose particles in the joint. Please make sure that the instructions given in the manuals have been fulfilled.
- How long does the foam need to dry?
The foam cures in a few hours, its surface is dry after 20-30 minutes and it is fully cured in 12-14 hours.
- There are large cells in the foam?
This is because the foam did not receive enough moisture from the air upon expansion. Please moisturize the surfaces before applying the foam.
- Is the foam vulnerable to sunlight?
The cured foam must be protected from sunlight, since UV-rays dissolve the foam´s structure.
- In what temperature range does the cured foam retain its structure?
Between -50 C to +90 C permanently and -65 C to +130 C for a short period.
